
Participants of St. Petersburg International Economic Forum Park Jets at FBO Riga haven
16th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum commenced 16 June 2016. According to organizers of PIEF, 10 000 participants and 2500 journalists will visit the Forum.
Amongst other guests and participants the Forum will be attended by Jean-Claude Juncker (President of the European Commission), Alexei Ulyukayev (Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation), Anton Siluanov (Minister of Finance), Alexandr Novak (Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation), Elvira Nabiullina (Chairman of the Bank of Russia), Alexei Kudrin (Head of Center for Strategic Initiatives), Alexei Miller (Chairman of Gzaprom Board), Andrey Kostin (President and Chairman of the Management Board of VTB Bank), German Gref (President of Sberbank), and other leading governmental officers, businessmen and economists. President Vladimir Putin will speak at PIEF on Friday. Today he will hold a traditional meeting with representatives of the international investment community, which is expected to be attended by major investors from the USA, India, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia. Besides, on 16 June Vladimir Putin will meet President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker the UN General Chairman Ban Ki-moon.
Experts note that once this year the Forum raised increased interest, the city transport infrastructure will experience peak loads. Historically, the transport load is taken by air havens Pulkovo in St. Petersburg and Vantaa in Helsinkin. For the first time in the history of the Forum, charter air-carriers have been recommended to use a new air service terminal in Riga.
